Vegan Bagels

These Vegan Bagels make a great and filling breakfast or lunch. The recipe is fairly simple to make and will be popular with your whole family. This recipe makes four delicious bagels.

I used vegan cheese and tomatoes to top my bagels for lunch and then the next day I toasted the bagels for breakfast. Both were very delicious. There are plenty of topping options you can use to make these bagels even more delicious.

The recipe starts with a simple dough recipe, you then leave it to rest for 2 hours. It should double in size. After that, you then form the dough into the 4 bagel shapes and boil them in water. I added syrup to mine as it adds a sweeter flavour to the bagels as well as helping the seasoning to stick to them. Then you just cook them in the oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

The seasoning is up to you depending on what you enjoy. I used poppy seeds and white sesame seeds, I would have liked to have also mixed in black sesame seeds but unfortunately, I couldn’t find them to buy before making this recipe. You can also sprinkle on a small amount of salt if you want a little extra.

The bagels taste the best right away, just let them cool for around an hour after cooking and then slice into them. They will be at their softest at this time but will last around 3 days. If you leave them a few too many days and they aren’t so soft you can toast them and you won’t even notice.

I hope you love these as much as I do!
