This Vegan Chocolate and Banana Ice Cream is the perfect summer treat!
It has a lot less sugar than store bought Ice-Cream and is just as delicious. Along with that each portion has a whole banana in it and so counts as one of your five a day.
This is a great recipe if you need to save a little money on icecream, you can still give your kids something super tasty but you can make it for a lot cheaper than you would be buying it.
To make this whole recipe it would cost roughly 56p, to buy one pot of vegan icecream at the supermarket you are looking at £4.50 minimum.
If you like bits of chunky banana in your ice cream then just blend the mix slightly less. If you don't want any noticeable banana then make sure to blend it thoroughly.
Rather than putting the mix in the freezer for an hour you can always eat it as an icey pudding if you like it a little softer.
If putting it in the freezer I recommend eating it after 1 hour in the freezer or it may become too solid. If it does get very solid you can leave it to defrost slightly before eating, you usually only need 5-10 minutes. You can also defrost it in the microwave for 30-60 seconds if you want it aslmost instantly.
This recipe makes one portion, so times it by how many people you are making it for.
It's super easy, you just blend all the ingredients together and wait for it to freeze.

Chocolate and Banana Ice Cream - Serves 1
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana, slice before freezing
3 tbsp vegan milk - We use Oat milk but any plant based milk will work.
1 tsp cocoa powder
½ tsp vanilla Essence
Method
Blend all ingredients
Freeze one hour
Serve
