Vegan Fennel & Turmeric Crackers


These vegan fennel & turmeric crackers are the perfect, bite sized, treat! They are super quick and easy to make!


These crackers are perfect for games night, or to go on a cheese board, or to take on a walk or picnic!


They have a strong flavour but my two year old still loved them!


We matched our crackers with some feta cheese. Check out our cheese page to see what you can match yours with.

If you want a little spice in your crackers you could add a small pinch of chilli flakes.


Turmeric;

Turmeric contains bioactive compounds with powerful medicinal properties.

Turmeric contains curcumin which is a natural anti inflammatory and is linked to better brain health and lowering risk of brain disease.

Curcumin could lower your risk of heart disease.

Turmeric can help provent and may help treat cancer.

Turmeric is used to treat arthritis.

To make these fennel & turmeric crackers;


Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.


Add the rest of the dry ingredients to the flour and mix to combine.


In a seperate, small bowl, add the wet ingredients and mix to combine.


Mix the wet ingredients to the dry to create a dough.


Knead the dough until soft and smooth.


Wrap your dough in cling film and place in the fridge for 30 mintues.

Roll your dough as thin as possible and cut your shapes out.


Place them onto a baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes or until crispy.

Fennel & Turmeric Crackers - Makes 40 Small


Ingredients


1 ¼ Cup Plain Flour

4 tsp Fennel Seeds

2 tsp Turmeric

2 tsp Sea Salt

½ tsp Baking Powder

¼ tsp Pepper

½ Cup Water

¼ tsp Cider Vinegar

2 tsp Olive Oil

You can add a pinch of chilli flakes if you want to add a little kick.


Method


Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.


Add the fennel seeds, turmeric, sea salt and pepper to the flour mix.


Mix to combine.


In a small bowl add the water, vinegar and oil and mix together.


Add the wet ingredients into the dry ones.


Mix to create a dough.


Knead the dough until it’s soft and smooth.


Wrap the dough in cling film and place it in the fridge for 30 minutes. This helps the dough become more pliable.


Preheat the oven 200C and prepare a large baking tray


Roll the dough out as thin as possible.


Cut out your shapes and place them on a large baking tray


Prick them with a fork a few times.


Bake for 8-10 minutes or until crispy.


Serve
