Vegan Flatbread/Tortillas

Writer: Marisa's Vegan RecipesMarisa's Vegan Recipes

Katie and I have seen a lot of people saying they are unable to get bread and other essentials, we have also had a few people say they aren't able to find yeast very easily. So we wanted to find some recipes for you that don't use yeast.

These vegan flatbread/tortillas are so quick and easy to make and they don't use any yeast so you don't have to wait for them to rise.

These taste amazing! You can use them to make wraps, fahitas or flat bread like we have done.

This recipe makes 4 quite large flatbread/tortillas. They are a great thing to let the kids help with, they are so simple, and kids will really enjoy making them especially when they see the end result!

You can put anything on your flatbread; you could make it just melted cheese, a flatbread pizza or like we did pesto and salad.

Katie made this recipe so there is a youtube video to watch, take a look at it, it will definitely make you hungry!

100ml Warm Water

2 tbsp Olive Oil

Pinch of Salt

Oil to fry

Vegan Pesto - Why not try one of our vegan pestos; 1 or 2

Vegan Cheese

Spinach

Red onion

Cucumber

Tomatoes

Pepper

Method

Sift the flour into a large bowl, and add the salt.

Add the water a little bit at a time and mix together.

Add the oil and knead the dough for 5 minutes.

Cut the dough into 4

Roll each piece out as circular as possible

Heat 1-2 tsp of oil in a frying pan.

Fry your tortillas for roughly 2 minutes each side. You should see some bubbles and the tortillas will start to brown in places, as you can see in the picture.

Cover with the toppings of your choice I have listed what Katie used above, it tasted so good so I highly recommend you try it with these toppings!
