These Vegan Spicy Blackbeans Burgers are the perfect homemade family dinner!
The recipe makes 4 - 6 burgers, depending on size. This is quite a healthy recipe and the beans and chickpeas provide a good source of protein and fibre.
For an extra health kick try pairing this burger with a side salad or homemade chips.
We buy bean burgers from the frozen isle in the supermarket fairly often, it's one of our go to easy meals. I decided it was about time I gave it go making them myself.
The mix of flavours go really well together and come out clearly in the burger. You can taste a lot more of the spices you have used when you make it yourself. I've found that some supermarket burgers are a little bland. By making it yourself, you are also able to use more of the flavours you prefer and less of the flavours you aren't keen on.
I personally can't handle a huge amount of spice, so this recipe had just about enough chilli for me. However, if you are a lover of spice adjust the amount of chilli flakes you use to bring out the spice.
After a long week at work the last thing you want is to be spending a long time making a complicated recipe. These burgers are so quick to make and cook, which makes them perfect for your weekend meal. It takes around 3-5 minutes to make the mix and 5-10 minutes to cook the burgers.
You can also freeze these burgers and enjoy them on a later date. Try making a bigger batch of burgers and put some in the freezer for next time.
