
Start the week off right with this healthy vegan spinach & banana smoothie! Do you need a little extra healthy kick to help them get that little extra energy at the beginning of the week? I know I do!
This smoothie takes less than 5 minutes to make, it's so easy! It's a great replacement for breakfast if, like me, you don't like to eat at the beginning of the day. Breakfast is still super important though so a smoothie is perfect!
This smoothie has two super foods; spinach and banana.
Spinach;
Spinach is loaded with tons of nutrients and is low in calories.
It's important to promote good skin hair and bone health.
Spinach provides protein, iron, vitamins and minerals.
Contains vitamin K which is good for reducing blood clotting, improving heart functionm promoting strong teeth and bones & helps with menstrual cramps.

Bananas;
Bananas are packed with healthy nutrients and vitamins, for example Vitamins B6, Vitamin C and Pottassium.
Bananas are "a better source of energy than expensive sports drinks"

I have put protein powder in my smoothie, this is optional but I think it's so great!
If you don't get enough protein in your diet it reduces lean body mass, muscle strength and function.
It lowers the amount of energy you have so you feel sluggish.
Not consuming enough protein can also cause muscle cramping, weakness and soreness.
We bought our protein powder on amazon, it was £19 for 1kg

Green Smoothie - Serves 1
Ingredients
1 Cup Milk
¾ Cup Spinach
1 Frozen Banana
1 Dessert Spoon Protein Powder (Optional)
3-4 Ice Cubes - If wanting it colder (Optional)
Method
Place the banana, skinless, in the freezer for a few hours or over night
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. I used a hand blender.
Serve
Enjoy!
