Vegan Tzatziki

Writer: Marisa's Vegan RecipesMarisa's Vegan Recipes

This vegan tzatziki is the perfect dip for any who loves creamy dips. It goes perfectly with pita bread, breadsticks and so much more!

This dip is super easy to make and tastes amazing!

Traditionally this tzatziki is made by draining the cucumber overnight in the fridge. You also combine the yoghurt, garlic, oil, vinegar and salt; place it in the frdige overnight. In the morning add the cucumber and dill to the yoghurt mix.

My recipe is a quicker version of this. I'm sure if you made it overnight the flavours would be incredible!

I wanted a super quick tzatziki recipe as I was making it to go with our dinner a couple of hours later so I didn't have time to soak it over night.

It still tastes great!

This tzatziki is more than just a dip; you can serve this with many dishes like "chicken" gyros. I don't have a recipe for this at the moment, but I'm keen to create one, I'm sure you can find some great vegan gyros recipes online.

This tzatziki is also great to spread on a sandwhich with some salad, drizzle on tacos and so much more. You can really get creative with what you put this on; it's only yoghurt and cucumber really.

We serve it with pita and we enjoyed it on the side of an almond satay, the recipe will be up soon.

To make this tzatziki;

You first need to grate the cucumber and place it in a muzzie.

Squeeze as much water as possible from the cucumber. This will make it loose most of its colour.

In a small bowl add the yoghurt, garlic, oil, vinegar and salt. Mix to combine all the ingredients.

Mix in the cucumber and dill.

I haven't tried this recipe with dried dill, however, dried and fresh do tend to have different flavours.

Fresh is better for this recipe but if you do use dried put a little in at a time and taste it until you get a flavour you are happy with.

Place in the fridge until you are ready to serve

Serve and Enjoy!

I hope you love this as much as we do!
