Vegan Yorkshire Puddings

Writer's picture: Marisa's Vegan RecipesMarisa's Vegan Recipes

One of my favourite meals is a roast, it's a great family meal and it's perfect to warm you up on a cold day. My favourite parts about a roast are the potatoes and the yorkshire puddings. I had to find the perfect vegan yorkshire pudding recipe so I could have my favourites with every roast dinner!

I have been trying to create the perfect yorkshire pudding recipe for a while. My most peristent problem was that they wouldn't rise.

I finally found a way to make the perfect yorkshire puddings but the only way I could do them was using an egg replacer; only 1 brand of egg replacer would work and I could only buy it in Asda which I don't shop in often, as it's not close by, and it's also not a cheap ingredient.

I have finally found the perfect recipe for vegan yorkshire puddings that doesn't involve any expensive ingredients.

All the ingredients can be found in all supermarkets.

This recipe makes 6- 9 yorkshire puddings, depending on how deep your cupcake baking trays are.

If you have a deep tray then you will most likely only get 6. I used a shallower tray to make 9 yorkshire puddings.

This recipe is super easy to make! It takes roughly 30 minutes to make as you have to let the oil heat in the oven before you can put the mix in.

When we were growing up we all loved a roast! There were 6 of us so we made lots of yorkshire puddings to soak our gravy up with.

My parents made yorkshire puddings that didn't dip in the middle, they were the best things ever, but I was around 16 before I found out that yorkshire puddings were meant to have the dip in the middle.

My dad is a chef and he has never been able to make yorkshire puddings dip in the middle, he only recently managed to make them right. It has been an on going joke between him and Joss, that the whole family likes to join in on, of course we have to laugh at him when he can't make something.

It's amazing that something so simple is the only thing that my dad can't make, so he must be mocked.

Luckily these vegan yorkshire puddings are so easy to make that anybody can make them perfect everytime!

This is what your mix should look like before it gets poured into the oil.

As you can see, it's a smooth mixture with no lumps!

Once you have made the mix you need to let it sit for a few minutes, this gives the oil time to finish heating up.

You then pour the mix into each section of your baking tray until it's almost to the top.

This is what your yorkshire puddings should look like when they come out of the oven.

As you can see there aren't any dips in these yet. You then get a spoon and gently push the insides down to create the perfect dip in your yorkshire puddings.

These came out very crispy and very tasty. I would be tempted to maybe cook them just a little less next time so that they are still crispy but just a little softer.

I hope you love this recipe as much as we did, and it's the perfect addition to your roast dinners!
