Vegan Nutella

If you loved nutella before you became a vegan, you will love this vegan nutella! This is the perfect vegan replica, you wont be able to tell the difference!

This recipe only requires 3 ingredients and it is so easy to make!

It takes roughly 20 minutes to make this, you then have to put it in the fridge to let it set. This only took about 1-2 hours.

If your children are allowed near the stove, this is a great recipe to let them help with. They will love helping you make this chocolatey delight, and how excited they will be waiting for it to set in the fridge.

If you are allergic to hazelnuts or just don't like them, you can remove them from the recipe to make a plain chocolate spread.

I am super excited to try making a plain white chocolate spread when I get the chance, I think it will taste amazing.

Hazelnuts;

Hazelnuts are rich in nutrients; they have a high content of protein, fats, vitamins, minerals and they are loaded with antioxidants.

Hazelnutes may be good for heart health, decrease inflammation, help lower blood sugar levels and have been linked to lower rate of cancers.

Coconut Milk;

Coconut milk is a very popular alternative to cows milk or cream. It is made from the white flesh of mature brown coconuts.

Coconut milk is made by grated the flesh of the coconut and boiling it in water. It is then strained, in a cheese cloth to create a thick milk.

For a thinner milk the remaining flesh in the cheese cloth is boiled a second time and restrained.

Coconut milk may help with weight loss, body composition and metabolism.

Studies suggest that coconut milk benefits heart health and cholestoral.

Coconut milk may also reduce inflammation, reduce stomach ulcers and fight viruses and bacteria.

Please do your own research, there is still so much to find out.

I hope you love this as much as I do!

Vegan Nutella - Makes Roughly 1 ½ Cups

Ingredients

1 Cup Chocolate

1 Tin Coconut Milk - Full Fat (Solid, White cream only)

½ Cup Hazelnuts

Method

Preheat the oven to 180C and prepare a baking tray

Spread your hazelnuts on the baking tray so they are single layer

Bake for 7-10 minutes or until the hazelnuts are starting to come out of their skin.

Let the hazelnuts cool completely

Place the hazelnuts in a clean tea towel and bundle the tea towel up around the hazelnuts and hold tightly so there are no gaps.

Shake for a minute or two until the hazelnuts skin has come off.

Throw away the skin and place the hazelnuts in a food processor.

Blitz until you have a sticky mix.

Place the nuts, coconut milk and chocolate in a small saucepan.

Heat at a medium heat, stirring constantly to stop any burning.

Do this until you have a smooth mix.

Pour the mix into a jar

Once cooled place in the fridge until it has set to make a chocolate spread.

Serve on toast, in a sandwich, as a dip and in so many more ways.

Enjoy!
